Overview:
ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (F3900-2023-18837):
Bowhead seeks an Engineering Technician to join our team in Crane, IN to support of the Expeditionary Undersea Warfare Support Division including, but not limited to various configurations of the Dry Combat Submersible (DCS), SEAL Delivery Vehicle (SDV), NELO platforms, and other emergent platforms. The Engineering Technician will assist with hands-on test and evaluation support for silver-zinc battery configurations and large-format lithium batteries supporting battery activation and formation cycling, test and evaluation, lot acceptance testing support, assembling battery boxes, etc., in accordance with applicable test procedures.
Responsibilities:
The Engineering Technician will also be responsible for hands-on test and evaluation and repair support for battery charging equipment, components, and associated support equipment, as well as, operating, maintaining, repairing, assembling, and upgrading various pieces of test and support equipment used in battery operations. Additionally, tracking Operating Materials and Supplies (OM&S), maintaining Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) Inventory, Electro-static Discharge (ESD) bench testing, calibration support, standard operating procedure (SOP) support, etc.
The Engineering Technician will be responsible for:
- Electronics and circuit board troubleshooting and repair
- Obtain soldering certification (examples: IPC J-STD, IPC-610, 2M, etc)
- Operate Forklifts
- Ability to work long hours in the lab and in austere locations
- Familiarity with calibration (METCAL)
- May require alternative hours, 24-hour operations (2, 13-hour shifts, including nights)
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
An Associate's degree or equivalent 3-5 year of experience- Experience with electronics and circuit board troubleshooting and repair
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance but candidates that currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
