Position Summary
Sustainability is a key focus area for Edrington and has recently been given much greater focus as we have significantly raised the profile and importance of sustainability to the business.

The new role of Scope 3 Carbon Emissions Manager – GSC (Global Supply Chain) has been created recognising the enormous and transitional change which will be required in our supply chain (scope 3) emissions and the critical role that our Global Supply Chain (GSC) function needs to play to deliver our 2030 and 2045 net zero targets. This role creates a focal point for scope 3 emissions within the GSC team and will work across all disciplines within the GSC scope 3 agenda to drive progress and deliver our ultimate goal, both in Scotland and the Dominican Republic.
Job Description
  • Owner of an initial and agreed Strategic Project to review and assess scope 3 emissions in our supply chain and develop the required focus and shape of a GSC response
  • The establishment and ongoing ownership of an accurate and evolving supplier emissions database as a critical tool to drive our supplier choices and develop much more detailed carbon relationships with our top suppliers
  • Implementation, championing and adherence of a new supplier sustainability code for tender documents and contracts
  • Development of a winning freight and logistics plan working closely with the subject-matter experts), identifying the big wins and supporting execution of the strategy once agreed, including providing support for our local operating companies.
  • Working closely with our Regions and local markets to drive improved insight and understanding of our non-owned distributors and key customers to drive better freight solutions through the supply chain and beyond the direct remit of Edrington.
  • Ensuring that we have robust targets, measurement and tracking and systems to support the capture and interpretation of key data. Research and recommend new systems where required.
  • Ensure that the scope 3 emissions 2030 roadmap remains live and with the required focus to deliver on commitments, applying pressure/focus where necessary.
  • The ability to dynamically identify and scope innovative solutions which may be appropriate to consider from our own industry and beyond.
  • Opportunity scoping and business case development for emission reduction.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have significant experience of working in a dynamic supply chain environment with senior exposure to both freight and procurement disciplines will be required. Evidence of influencing skills at all levels will be required as this role is standalone. In order to deliver strategic scope 3 emissions, the role holder will have strong project management experience, with a track record of leading others, from across a range of disciplines and teams (internal and external to the organisation) to deliver creative and far-reaching solutions.

The role will also require the ability to work easily with other people in the business across all disciplines and cultures as it is truly global in its nature so high-quality interpersonal skills and the ability to get great engagement from people for whom this is not their day job will be key. A high working knowledge of the world of sustainability, trends and an ability to demonstrate being au fait with topical green issues would be desirable. Experience in the drinks industry or in a relevant sustainability environment would also be an advantage.
