Role Description

In this role, you will have a wide range of duties including:Processing of all billsInputting and reconciling office payments and transfers between office and client bank accounts per Law Society rules.Administration and reconciliation of client-designated deposit accountsInputting, authorising and releasing Bacs and Chaps payments through the online systemPosting and payment of client disbursements through the purchase ledgerCommunication with the Firm’s bank concerning any payment queriesCalculating and inputting interest due on client ledgers as and when requested by fee-earnersPurchase ledger including – posting direct debits, input invoices, making payments via bacsWIP and disbursement write-offs
This is a fixed-term role for 12 months, covering maternity leave. The role is primarily located in St Albans, with flexibility for some remote work.
Qualifications
This role will suit someone keen to add value and progress in a fast-paced business environment. We are looking for someone with:Knowledge of Excel, and ideally Elite 3EAt least 2 years accounts experience, legal/practice experience preferredAAT or Legal Cashier qualification (desirable)Knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (desirable)Practical experience of handling client enquiriesMust be able to communicate with people at all levelsOrganised and methodical approach to workExcellent attention to detail & numeracyAbility to multi-task and work under pressure are essential qualities.
