If you are a recent or upcoming graduate with a strong interest in technology, who is looking to kickstart a career in eDiscovery, then the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has an exciting opportunity for you. We are looking for a motivated eDiscovery Intern to join our renowned eDiscovery Team on a fixed-term basis.
The CMA is the UK’s world-leading government body established to make sure competition works in consumers’ favour and businesses treat their customers fairly. Our eDiscovery Team uses their technical expertise in the investigation, collation, processing and analysis of digital material to support the critical cases undertaken by the CMA. Through combined project teams, they are building a cutting-edge eDiscovery capability for the CMA that combines both commercial and in house technologies.
As an eDiscovery Intern at the CMA, you will have the chance to work alongside a team of technical experts at the forefront of their field. This role will immerse you in challenging eDiscovery projects with complex data and workflows, where you will work closely with our clients, providing support in all aspects of data processing, manipulation, and document review. You will update the case management system with meticulous notes and will assist with the troubleshooting of complex technical queries. Additionally, you will provide essential administrative support for internal users of our document review platform, Nuix Discover.
We are seeking candidates with a recent or upcoming bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as digital forensics, computer science, or equivalent experience in eDiscovery operations, legal casework, or evidence review practice. To excel in this role, you must possess excellent technical and problem-solving skills, along with a proactive attitude towards researching and implementing innovative technical solutions. Your ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, will be key to providing a high-quality service within project deadlines. You will be capable of producing quality results under pressure, by working collaboratively as part of a team and making good judgements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, is expected.
By joining our eDiscovery Team, you will not only gain hands-on experience and valuable training but will also lay the foundation for a successful career in eDiscovery. This role offers a launchpad for growth and development in a dynamic and supportive environment.
We recognise the value of work-life balance, offering hybrid working arrangements and flexible working options including part-time, compressed hours, and job share arrangements. You will be equipped with excellent technology tools and services that facilitate collaboration regardless of your location. Our modern, professional workplaces across the UK provide an exceptional working environment. Furthermore, we proactively promote mental and physical well-being through a diverse range of well-being initiatives, including an employee assistance programme and a supportive network of mental health first aiders.
