On our competitively paid Industrial Placement, you will complete a 11-month placement located in our Canary Wharf office, London. You will gain exposure across the business to build your knowledge of how we work collaboratively to deliver on the Group’s inclusion strategy, you will work right at the source of the global Inclusion strategy and across different diversity strands.
The work we do is important because of the confidence it gives our leaders, colleagues and customers in our advice and services. Our team is high profile and, by the nature of the work we do, you’ll get exposure to senior colleagues and gain a better understanding of how we build relationships across the Bank. Day to day there could be many stakeholder conversations with, leaders, inclusion partners, wider HR colleagues (e.g., Talent, resourcing, employee listening, performance and reward, executive development) and other cross-business stakeholders as well as external 3rd party companies.
This placement equips you with practical knowledge and experience of managing a global function and embedding a global inclusion strategy. You will be a key member of the team with specific responsibilities and will work alongside experienced professionals who are keen to share knowledge and help you develop skills that will become invaluable as you develop and grow in the industry. You will learn a lot across the employee lifecycle and how HR works.
You'll become part of the global team and we will help you understand our global inclusion strategy, business goals and key initiatives. You will expand your professional network through meetings across multiple teams. Here are some of the activities you can get involved with:
- Supporting the management and execution of the strategic priorities of HSBC by working closely with a team
- Working in collaboration with your team on different projects and initiatives such as social mobility, disability confidence and a variety of disclosures
- Supporting the Head of Inclusion in developing, embedding, and maintaining of overall strategy and risk controls
- Delivering activities to support the wider business meet its regulatory requirements
- Providing business support such as minute taking, preparing meeting packs and briefing documents and following up
- Desk-based research to build our knowledge of external best practice and D&I initiatives
- Managing senior (GM, MD, GCB3) stakeholders’ engagement, ensuring a consistent understanding of action status, risks and issues and key D&I outcomes
