Job Description

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust Cancer Services Team is moving forward with innovative ways of working. Nurses who have the specialist skills to deliver SACT and the ongoing requirement to maintain these skills with annual assessment should be valued and recognised. Not only are we committed to investing in education, development and innovative practice we are able to offer anannual payment of£1,500 pro ratato those with SACT skills whether bringing them to the department or on completion of their specialist training.

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Staff Nurse with a keen interest in cancer services to join our incredible team. We welcome applications from registered nurses with a good level of experience. Experience within this specialty is desired but not essential as we are able to provide a thorough training programme. To support and enhance our nurses we have in house practice educators who work closely with new starters and guide our nurses to becoming competent in the delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT). It is an expectation of all our Staff Nurses that they will undertake this training.

On-going education and development is actively encouraged and there is access to degree level modules in Chemotherapy, Oncology and Haematology, as well as opportunities to attend local, national and international conferences.

To work as a skilled member of the nursing team.
To provide a high standard of compassionate patient centred care.
To lead and supervise the work of other qualified and unqualified staff within the team
To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
