FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
£22,672-£24,908 (pro-rata)
Location: HideOut Youth Zone then transition to new Salford Youth Zone in late 2024
HideOut Youth Zone in Gorton (Manchester) opened in September 2020 and now has a membership of over 6,500 children and young people. The Youth Zone is open 7 days a week (including school holidays). HideOut’s purpose is to help young people grow and to lead happy, healthy, safe and successful lives. HideOut’s state-of-the-art building provides young people with somewhere safe to go, something positive to do and someone trusted to talk to. Facilities include a 3G pitch, climbing wall, gym, sports hall and recreation area, and dance, arts, music and media suites.
Due to the success and impact of HideOut Youth Zone, an opportunity to develop a second site in Salford has been realised with all of the required capital funding now secured. Due to open in early 2025, Salford Youth Zone will be the second site operated by our central charity, EMPOWER, and will join the Onside Network of Youth Zones across the country.
THE ROLE
The Finance & Administration Assistant plays a critical role in the Youth Zone’s mission to provide young people with affordable access to fun and inspiring opportunities; designed to help them lead active, positive lives and raise aspirations.
The role holder will provide finance and administrative support to enable the smooth running of the Youth Zone’s activities, including but not limited to: day-to-day finance tasks such as cash counting, bank reconciliations, placing orders and processing supplier payments, generating supporter invoices and financial reporting, plus general office admin, supporting recruitment and HR processes and providing a first-class service to our members and supporters.
This role will add extra capacity to the HideOut Youth Zone team in its first 12-18 months whilst also supporting the finance and admin function of Salford Youth Zone during its construction phase and pre-opening period. This role will then transition into the Salford Youth Zone team permanently.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a finance-related role that was responsible for general day-to-day finance tasks
- Wide-ranging admin experience in a fast-paced environment/s
- Highly developed IT skills: working knowledge of accounting software (essential) such as Sage 50, intermediate/advanced user of Microsoft Office (essential) and database experience (desirable)
- Have excellent organisational skills and an ability to cope with multiple demands and deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency in mind.
In accordance with our Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures, this role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
